cart works great. I have a couple of show cars and my older son
has a show car, we go to a lot of car shows, most are during the
hot summer months. Sitting under a shade tree is ok, but with
no breeze and 105 temp. it can take away from the enjoyment of
showing your car. I thought if this (MW1) works anywhere near
as well as the unit (MG4) I got for the golf cart life will be

Cooling using Water only your choice!
If you are located in a Dry Area consider the Portable MW1
Evaporative Cooling which is easily placed on a platform you can
fashion in front or behind the driver & passenger with no
permanent mounting needed.
In Dry Desert areas permanently Mounted Roof Top Coolers are typically
Evaporative Coolers. The MG4 is designed with Dual Systems providing
Evaporative Cooling using Water only, then producing Air Conditioning
by adding Ice to the Water. The Ice Water is pumped through a
Heat Exchanger in the MG4 producing Air Conditioned air, which
also helps combat humidity.
The difference between Evaporative
Cooling and Air Conditioning.
In Dry Hot Desert areas Evaporative Cooling occurs when hot dry
air passes through a wetted pad producing cool air like an ocean
breeze because the water evaporates quickly. In Hot Humid areas
evaporation occurs very slowly, so Evaporative Cooling is not
nearly as effective and does nothing to reduce humidity, therefore
Air Conditioning is preferred as A/C helps reduce humidity along
with providing cool air. The Dual System MG4 does it all as you
select the cooling method you prefer by using water only or adding
ice to the water.
The MG4 uses Ice Energy instead of Battery Energy to provide 'True'
Air Conditioned Comfort, therefore your Batteries will not let
you down before you finish your rounds. The design as the MG4
looks more like a Hummer than a Corvette as we did not add a superficial
aerodynamic frame as we felt it was more important to provide
easy installation plus keep the 10 pound weight on the top to
a minimum. Tapping
into 12-Volts is simple as the MG4 uses only 3.4 amps (41
Watts) so that you can even operate it on an inexpensive 12-volt
"Power Station" which comes with a built in charger.
Or you may use a Flexible Cigarette Lighter Receptacle that clamps
onto 12-volts fryour Golf Cart battery pack. Both of these items
are typically available at Auto Parts stores, Target, Walmart,
K-Mart, etc. All of the batteries may also produce 12 volts with
a proper converter available at your favorite service/parts dealer.

process quite simple and took less than an hour to complete. The
only change we made, was to replace the cigarette lighter end
with alligator clips. We found a slim line ice chest that fit
perfectly in the basket between the back of the seat and the golf
bag rack. The hoses were just the right length to fit our cart.

The MG4 rises a mere 7 3/4 " in height above the roof &
approximately 4" below the roof. Check out other Specifications
You cannot blow air into or through ice
without increasing humidity which is a form of Evaporative Cooling.
Some companies claim to have Air Conditioners, however they increase
humidity leading to more discomfort.
Understanding this problem the Swampy Company developed
and has produced 'True' battery operated Air Conditioning since
2001. As an example our systems are used in closed up vehicles
for Surveillance by the FBI, Homeland Security, numerious Sherriff
and Police Departments plus Private Investigators under the most
severe heat soaked humid conditions, such as in direct sunlight
for hour upon hour.
Golf Cart Evaporative Cooling systems provide relief from the
heat in dry desert climates because the cool air produced can
be as much as 25 degrees cooler than the ambient air. However,
in the case of our new MightyKool MG4 Dual Cooling System
or the MightyKool MW1 Evaporative System, using water only,
the cool air produced will be at least 30 degrees cooler under
the same circumstances.
As an example if the ambient temperature on a dry day in
the desert were 109 degrees the cool air produced from a well-designed
evaporative cooler might be 84+-, however the cool air would be
79+- degrees using the MG4 or MW1 with water only. Under the same
circumstances the MG4 would produce 65+- degrees using Ice &
Water!
You do not need an enclosure on your Golf Cart to enjoy
the cold air produced, although you may if you wish with the MG4.
If you are using water only you need some ventilation for Evaporative
Cooling.
We furnish all you need except the ice chest, of your choice,
that would typically be located behind your seat. Place the pump
in the ice chest and plug in the 12-volt cigarette lighter then
add a small amount of water and fill with ice, turn the MG4 on
& you will feel the cold air in seconds. The water lines to
the pump are seven feet long.
All of our Ice Models are capable
of using from 15 to 20 pounds of ice per hour during the heat
of the day when operating it. We began this project in 1995 and
the first models would only use 5 to 10 pounds per hour, which
was not adequate. Now enjoy True Air Conditioned comfort with
the MightyKool MG4!
The method the MG4 uses to produce cold air is possible
because of many thousands of hours of engineering and the Power of Ice when used in a properly designed
system. The MG4 may be installed by your favorite Dealer or by
providing a 7" square hole in the roof that will easily support
the 10-pound weight. A key hole saw may even be used to cut the
soft top material and you may wish to go up & review the ideas
on Tapping into 12-Volts.
What are the Dimensions, Amperage Draw and Water Capacity?
One gallon (3.75 liters) of water will last around two to
three hours in the daytime and four to five hours during the night
when used for evaporative cooling in dry desert climates. The
"Ice Water" models are capable of using from 10 pounds
(4.5 kilograms) up to 20 pounds (9.0 kilograms) of ice per hour,
or more, depending on the ambient temperature and day or night
operation.
A 105 Deep Cycle battery, "not being charged", allow
the MW1, MW2 to operate for 50 to 80 hours and the "Ice Water"
models like the MK3, MK4, MAC & M400 will operate for 25 to
35 hours before the battery needs charging. The Swampy Models
will operate about 8 hours before the battery would need charging
as they draw more energy.
